Buchtar Tabuni Support the rejection of clemency by Political Prisoners in Papua

I fully support the stance of rejection Filep Karma and his friends on the pardon (forgiveness) will be granted President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono against Papuan political prisoners in Papua.

I am also a former political prisoner who is now the Chairman of the National Parliament of West Papua [PNWP], gave high appreciation to the freedom fighters in custody Abepura Papua, Wamena, Nabire, Biak, Manokwari, Timika and Paniai that has rejected clemency from the Indonesian Government.


I judge that granting clemency to political prisoners in Papua by Indonesia’s President as – if it gives the sense that the people of West Papua who always make mistakes or break the agreement in force and should ask for forgiveness from the colonial Government of Indonesia, while Indonesian State is not aware that Indonesia is in West Papua is Illegal.

I, as leader of the National Parliament of West Papua [PNWP], confirmed that the Indonesian government should apologize to the people of West Papua, the Indonesian state because they made a mistake by breaking agreement reached between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on New Agreement York Agreement. So that the Indonesian state should apologize to the people of West Papua, because the agreement between the Netherlands and Indonesia in the New York Agreement was there a agreement who said that the Papuan people have the right to Self-Determination.

I am very proud and grateful to the freedom of all political prisoners who are serving sentences Papua has refused clemency to be granted to them Indonesians Government.

I made it clear to the Indonesian government that the development in the ongoing West Papua is a government obligation that must be carried out according to the New York Agreement but Indonesian State has violated the right of Self-Determination alone approval. So that’s what the Indonesian government violated the Indonesian President immediately apologized and immediately implement the Self-Determination under International Law in Papua

During the Indonesian government did not understand the agreement that has been made by the Kingdom of the Netherlands on Self-Determination Indonesia believes that the State of West Papuan people as a separatist.
